The Indian River Mosquito Control Board chose among themselves their Board Officer Roles for 2023 at their January 10th, 2023 Business Meeting. The Board Officer Roles are Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary.
The Indian River Mosquito Control Board consists of three elected board members, Janice Broda (Seat 1), Anna Kirkland (Seat 2) and Matt Erpenbeck (Seat 3).
Kirkland was recently elected to the Indian River Mosquito Control Board in the 2022 General Election.
Broda was selected by the Board to be Chairman and Kirkland was selected to be Vice-Chairman. Both these selections were made in the same motion.
The Board Officer roles are rotated ever year between each of the different board members, allowing each to have a turn in each role.
While 2023 is Kirkland’s first year serving on the board, she was given the opportunity to be Chairman of the Mosquito Control Board since 2023 is techically the year Seat 2 has the turn to be Chairman. Kirkland declined due being a new member of the Indian River Mosquito Control Board.
The Board Members agreed to let Kirkland will have the opportunity in 2024 to be Chairman of the Mosquito Control Board if she would like to be Chairman.
The Indian River Mosquito Control District is an independent taxing district in Indian River County, Flordia tasked with controlling the spread of mosquitoes and preventing transmission of disease from mosquitoes.
The next Indian River Mosquito Control meeting will be held on Tuesday February 14th, 2023 at 9AM. Meetings are the Indian River County Mosquito Control complex, located at 5655 41st Street, Vero Beach, FL 32967
