Florida State Senator Joe Gruters (R-Sarasota) has endorsed Dr. Gene Posca, MD (Vero Beach-District 1) for his School Board race in Indian River County.
Senator Gruters was this year’s State Senate sponsor of the Senate Joint Resolution for Partisan School Board Elections,, this year’s Parents Bill of Rights legislation, Senate Bill 1684, and was the sponsor of the Senate Joint Resolution in 2021 to put term limits on School Board Members in Florida.
While Senator Gruter’s Partisan School Board Election bill died during this past session, the fact that Senator Gruters is weighing in on this race, sends a message to the electorate.
Senator Gruters also serves as Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida.
Dr. Posca is an Internal Medicine Doctor, having started practicing medicine at age 26 and is a Father of three children, residing in Unincorporated Vero Beach.
Posca had filed to run for School Board on February 14th, after former SDIRC Assistant Superintendent Bruce Green withdrew from the District 1 School Board Race. Green withdrew from the race to focus on personal family matters.
