Friday, April 22nd at 6PM, Moms for Liberty Indian River, Florida and We the People Indian River County will be hosting a School Board Candidate Forum. The event will be held at Vero Christian Church, and the address for the venue is 3250 9th St SW, Vero Beach, FL 32968.
The Candidate Forum will be moderated by TGI Now podcast co-host, John Corapi. Corapi and the other TGI Now co-hosts, Eddie Rivera and Rondell Benton, will have a show prior to the forum.
Moms for Liberty Indian River, FL Vice Chairman, Chris Allen, told us, “We’re excited to host our first candidate forum. This is an opportunity for the community to get to know their School Board candidates better. All candidates will be asked the same questions, and the event will be conducted in a professional, unbiased manner. Thank you to all organizations who helped put this event together.”

The event will open at 6PM with a Social Hour that will include a meeting and greet with the candidates.
The forum itself with start at 7PM with an opening prayer.
Incumbent candidate Jackie Rosario (District 2) and nonincumbent candidates, Thomas Kenny (District 4) and Joshua Post (District 2), have confirmed their attendance to the upcoming forum.
Incumbent candidate Teri Barenborg (District 4) will not be attending the event due to a prior committment on that day.
Nonincumbent candidates Cindy Gibbs (District 2), LaDonna Corbin (District 2) and Dr. Gene Posca, MD (District 1) have not responded to the invite sent out by Moms for Liberty Indian River County and WTPIRC, to attend the event. They have until April 14th to RSVP.
The Indian River County chapter of Moms for Liberty was one of the first chapters created when the organization started early last year. We the People Indian River County was founded 2020 and is a proponent for Constitutional Rights in Indian River County.
Since their founding, Moms for Liberty Indian River, FL and We the People Indian River County have fought for students, parents, teachers, and citizens for better education and parental rights. They have also been advocates of removing and stopping mandatory masking, promoting medical freedom, and ensuring school library books that contain pornographic content, which are said to violate Florida State Statute, are removed from the schools in Indian River County. The state statutes that Moms for Liberty Indian River, FL and We the People Indian River County says were violated are “Chapter 847.001 – Obscenity”, “847.012 – Obscenity; Harmful materials; sale or distribution to minors or using minors in production prohibited; penalty.—””, and “1006.28 – Duties of district school board district school superintendent; and school principal regarding K-12 instructional materials.”
Moms For Liberty was founded as an organization by former Brevard School Board Member Tina Descovich and former Indian River County School Board Member Tiffany Justice in January 2021. As of April 2022, Moms For Liberty has over 80,000 members nationwide. Their members have been on national news and at press conferences with Governor Ron DeSantis.
