Three Sebastian City Council-Members Give Support and or Endorsement in 2022 Sebastian City Council Race

September 19, 2022

Three Members of Sebastian City Council have given either an endorsement, support for or a request to vote for candidates in the 2022 Sebastian City Council Election.

Mayor Jim Hill endorsed first-time City Council Candidate Kelly Dixon, who he’s known for many years.

Mayor Hill said in a Facebook post:

I have known Kelly Dixon and her family for many years and know of her love for the city and her desire to keep Sebastian a wonderful place to live work and play. No one will work harder than Kelly to gain all the facts on every issue and make her decisions based on what’s best for our great community. Kelly also will bring a new perspective to counsel that represents a very large portion of the population, that of a young mother wife and daughter who always wants what’s best for her family. Kelly is a very intelligent and kind hearted person who has the temperament and savvy for the job. For these reasons and many more, Aimee and I proudly support and endorse Kelly Dixon for Sebastian City Council.

Vice Mayor Fred Jones has given his support to fellow Council-Member Ed Dodd for re-election.

Councilman Chris Nunn has asked Sebastian residents to vote for Councilman Dodd along with Candidate Louise Kautenberg.

Councilman Nunn said on Facebook on September 15th, 2022:

Today is the official 2 year mark of serving my Community and City. Today is liberation day, Today is the day to remember and never forget what 3 people and their friends did to our beautiful City. Many have asked for my opinion on who to vote for. Well for the tough decisions we have facing our City this upcoming year, experience is the key. So please vote to re-elect Ed Dodd and Louise Kautenburg. Neither of them needs training and we can move forward from day 1.

Kautenberg has been involved with Sebastian government for over 20 years, having served on various boards and committees with the City of Sebastian. Her most recent run for Sebastian City Council was in 2020 during the recall election.

Mayor Hill and Vice Mayor Jones have both endorsed Robert Brackett in his run for State House District 34.

Mayor Hill has chosen to not seek reelection to Sebastian City Council. He has served on and off throughout the last two decades on Sebastian City Council.

Vice Mayor Jones and Councilman Nunn are not up for reelection until 2023.
