Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers told Indian River News regarding the Tropical Storm and State of Emergency:

“Our agency prepares annually for the potential landfall of hurricanes in our county or around the state. Today we were on a conference call with the Florida Sheriff’s Association Task Force preparing assets for wherever TD9 may make landfall. We want to assure the community that our agency and our partner Sheriff’s Offices around the state are prepared should TD9 come our way. Additionally, we are ready to respond to help around the state if we are called upon. We will continue to monitor the projected path of TD9. As we approach the end of hurricane season, we would hope that residents are well prepared at this point, but if you are not please prepare your family as resources may not be available immediately after a tropical depression or hurricane makes landfall. A resource guide is available from our partners at the Indian River County Emergency Operations Center.”
